In today’s challenging world, individuals need a solid foundation to navigate life. For Muslims, Islam is not limited to acts of worship like prayer and fasting. Rather, it is a complete way of life, encompassing social, economic, educational, familial, and leadership dimensions.  All guidance stems from the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.
As stated in the Quran:

“Indeed, this Quran guides to that which is most upright...”
(Surah Al-Isra’, 17:9)

When we embrace all of Islam’s teachings, it helps shape people with strong values and good character. This creates a peaceful, God-conscious society that’s protected from moral decline. This state can only be achieved if we start early by nurturing the right mindset through comprehensive religious education. It begins with the basics of fardu ‘ain, aqidah - the core of our worldview - and akhlaq. Together, they form the foundation for a community that is knowledgeable, God-conscious, and proactive in doing good.

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. once shared a beautiful example that highlights the value of knowledge. He compared it to rain falling on the earth - some land absorbs it and produces crops, while other parts remain dry and unfruitful. This teaches us the importance of cultivating and embracing religious knowledge, so that it brings benefit to ourselves and the community.

In line with this message, various initiatives have been led by asatizah and institutions under the Islamic Education Working Group (IEWG) - Including MUIS, Andalus, Pergas, Perdaus, and several other Islamic centres. These efforts aim to encourage the community to deepen their understanding of Islam, beginning with the fundamentals of our deen (religion) and progressing to higher levels of Islamic sciences.

One of the key upcoming initiatives is LearnIslam Fest 2025, happening on 26 and 27 July at Singapore Expo, Hall 5B, from 12 PM to 10 PM. With the theme 'Plant the Seeds of Faith', this convention hopes to nurture a generation that values their faith, is grounded with Islamic teachings, and can apply it meaningfully in modern day Singapore. Just like planting a single seed that grows into many crops, the theme aims to nurture a community that brings benefit to others through faith.

Some of the key highlights at LearnIslam Fest 2025 include the ADIL Knowledge Retreat by Dr. Rania Awaad titled 'Finding Calm in Chaos', an inspirational sharing session on hijrah and spiritual transformation featuring Aisyah Aziz and Ustazah Nur Hidayah Azman, a performance by the nasyid group Inteam, as well as other exciting programmes including 'Fiqh of Wealth Planning', a cooking demonstration by Chef Gero, and a children's Quran recitation competition.

The convention also introduces attendees to Islamic learning platforms such as aLIVE, ADIL, ADIL Self-Paced Learning (SPL), and the ADIL Knowledge Retreat (AKR) – offering lifelong Islamic learning opportunities for people of all ages and expertise.

Through its diverse lineup, the convention underscores the importance of pursuing religious education through recognised institutions, serving as a safeguard against harmful misinterpretations of Islam and helping to preserve the unity and wellbeing of the Muslim community.

We hope that the upcoming LearnIslam Fest 2025 will be a bridge between knowledge and practice, shaping a progressive and resilient Muslim community in Singapore. Come join us with your family and friends, as we plant the seeds of faith - in our hearts and our community!
