Controlling the spread of COVID-19 will be less effective if more people do not comply with circuit breaker measures. Circuit breaker may also be extended or perhaps more stringent measures will have to be imposed. However, if we all adopt a more responsible attitude in complying with the measures, we will certainly be able to control the spread of the virus and get out of this current situation.

Being responsible is part of our faith. Allah s.w.t. forbids us from exposing ourselves to destruction, as mentioned in the Quran, “Do not contribute to your destruction with your own hands…” (Surah al-Baqarah, verse 195). Additionally, if a Muslim deliberately violates rules and causes harm to others, then he has committed an act that is against Syara’ and has actually committed a sin.

As we welcome Ramadan, let us pursue good deeds and reap the rewards that Allah s.w.t. has promised. Let us use this opportunity to perform more acts of worship with our family members and do more charitable acts.

May Allah s.w.t. bless all our efforts and may He help us get through these challenging times. Amin.
