Can a pregnant mother fast?

Answer
Praise be to Allah s.w.t.

A pregnant woman may fast if she is able to do so. If she is unable to do so, she may break the fast.

If she does not fast because she is worried for her own well-being, it is compulsory for her to repay (qadha’) the days she has missed. If she does not fast because she is worried for her baby’s well-being, it is compulsory for her to repay (qadha’) as well pay the fidyah for the missed days.

We hope that all our fasts are accepted by Allah s.w.t. and our mothers are rewarded for their sacrifice.

Allah knows best.
