Ustazah Nurhannah Irwan aspires to do as much as she can to support and protect women and Muslim families through empowering religious narratives, policies and legal applications. Thus, she is a passionate speaker on issues of gender and family law from the perspective of Islam.
Ustazah Nurhannah was a recipient of Muis postgraduate scholarship and graduated with Master of Arts in Gender Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Prior to her post-graduate education, she received her Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Sociology at the National University of Singapore.
She had earlier attended Madrasah Al-Maarif Al-Islamiah and Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah for her primary to pre-university education. A force to be reckoned with, she has always been an excellent debater who has won the Best Speaker award during her school days. She has also represented Singapore in University Forum, an initiative of the governments of Singapore and Brunei to foster closer ties between the two countries.
She is now a Regional Product Policy Manager at a tech company.
