Ramadan is a time when Muslims around the world strive to increase their devotional acts (ibadah) through fasting, praying, reciting the Quran and performing other acts of worship. These ibadah performed throughout Ramadan are intended to help us increase our piety towards Allah s.w.t. and to become closer to Him.

Here are 3 ibadah that we are encouraged to do during the holy month of Ramadan:

  1. Do More Good Deeds. With the aims of strengthening our faith and receiving Allah’s blessings.

  2. Read More. Increase our knowledge by reading and studying the Holy Quran and the life of Rasulullah s.a.w.

  3. Reflect. On the values that the Holy Quran teaches us, particularly in moral character (akhlak). Our deeds and actions as people of faith have to reflect good moral character, such as those that have been laid out in our Holy Book.

Bear in mind that intensifying our devotion to Allah in Ramadan is not limited to ritual prayers and the fast.

Let's also reflect on every aspect of our lives and consciously strive to demonstrate our devotion to Allah in all our actions, words and intentions - and that includes bringing happiness and blessings to those around us.
